Youth and children

jugend_volleyballChildren need, above all, to feel secure, to be cared for and to have a “warm nest” within their family. It is their parents, primarily, that are responsible for providing this. And here Christian ethics found in the Bible give us countless helps and advice about the best way we, as mothers and fathers, can meet the varied needs of our children.

Virtues such as honesty, helpfulness, compassion, sacrifice, and consideration for the weak, are highly esteemed in our fellowship. In order to awaken enthusiasm in our children and youth for these positive values, we go on adventureous excursions, hold sports events, spend enjoyable afternoons with games and, not least, with edifying meetings.

In this manner we attempt to bring our children and youth near to faith in God and Jesus Christ, and to train them to become responsible members of our society

Those who reach a different conviction are not forced in any way, but rather we respect their free decision. The gospel teaches us as parents, to behave tolerantly toward our children and to be understanding whenever they choose different priorities than we may have expected, or would have wished.

Therefore it is especially important within the family never to lose contact with the hearts of our children, regardless of which way they might go. They can always count on finding an “open heart” and an “open door” at home
